Dear guest,

May we introduce to you, in a few words, our family business, which since 22nd of April 2005 includes this hotel in the shopping and business district TNC of Lesce in the municipality of Radovljica.

The company Krek, Ribno, d.o.o. was founded in 1994, but our family business already started in 1975 with our parents renting the restaurant at the Lesce airport. In 1978 we got the opportunity to rent the Guesthouse "Dom Pod Planino" in the village Trebija, where we employed an average of 15 people. We lived and worked in the Poljana valley, where our father originally comes from. In this guesthouse we also opened one of the first discos in this area, known by the name Disco Uran.

In 1984 we moved to Ribno, a small village in the municipality of Bled, and opened a small guesthouse with 6 rooms. In 1990 we added 9 rooms to have a total of 35 beds. In addition to helping our mother running the guesthouse, our father also worked as a taxi-driver.

Because of the Balkan Crisis, it was difficult to survive in the tourism business in those days, so we looked for an alternative to earn our living and got the opportunity to sell porcelain of the German company Seltmann Weiden for the Hotel/Restaurant & Catering industry. For this reason the company Krek, Ribno, d.o.o. was founded. In the beginning, we were selling the porcelain at fairs and by personal selling. Until 1998 the business was done in our living room, then we bought our own offices and salesshop in the business district Lisice in Bled. With the vision to have the widest possible offer and always present the latest products and technologies to the Slovenian hotel/restaurant and catering business, the office and shop space was soon too small. Also the warehouse was bursting at the seams and one third of the goods was stored at the family garages. Looking for ideal business premises, we hit the offer to buy an estate in the business and shopping district TNC in Lesce. The family decided that with regards to the again prospering tourism business, it was the ideal location not only for offices and the shop but also for a hotel.

In just one year we built a real estate with 4400 m2, which today houses the hotel, the restaurant Krek, the shop "All for masters of culinary arts" with warehouse and B2B shop. The hotel has 36 entities, a conference room, a parking lot and a basement garage for its guests.

The company Krek, Ribno, d.o.o. today employs an average of 20 people. Our mother still likes to help and check on us, Florjan runs the hotel, whereas Aleš has taken over the office and shop. Two of our children have now joined the family business.
